HR Specialist
As an HR Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring that HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be part of the People & Culture team and contribute to a positive employee experience in a dynamic and international environment.
In this role, you will act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, while ensuring accurate HR administration, compliance with Dutch labor law, and continuous improvement of HR processes. You will combine operational excellence with a people-focused mindset.
You’ll be responsible for
- Executing administrative HR tasks across the full employee lifecycle, including contract preparation, personnel file management, and leave administration
- Processing sickness and recovery notifications and maintaining accurate absenteeism records and reporting
- Preparing monthly payroll input and ensuring accurate HR administration to support payroll processing
- Organizing wellbeing initiatives, engagement activities, and employee events
- Conducting PES screenings for new hires and coordinating annual re-screenings
- Supporting BHV/Emergency Response processes, including certifications and mandatory exercises
- Acting as the first point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR processes, policies, and employment conditions
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Supporting HR reporting by maintaining and validating HR data
- Contributing to HR and People & Culture projects (e.g. engagement, employer branding, L&D)
- Ensuring compliance with Dutch labor law and escalating complex cases where needed
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within HR operations
Here’s what we are looking for
- 1-3 years of experience in HR operations, HR support, or a similar role
- A completed Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of Dutch labor law
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Nice to have
- Experience with HR and payroll systems (e.g. HiBob, Nmbrs)
- BHV certification or willingness to obtain it
- Experience working in an international or fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HR reporting or data analysis
- Affinity with employee engagement or employer branding
