Senior Business Development Analyst
As Senior Business Development Analyst, you turn the opportunities in our Business Development portfolio into business cases that can be decided without rework.
You size the opportunity, model the revenue and the costs, test both against regulatory and operational reality, and give the Business Development Manager and the Management Team a clear, defensible recommendation. Once an initiative is approved, you act as project manager and take it into a successful launch.
You work across the organisation without direct reports: you own the method, not the mandate.
What you’ll do
• Maintain the Business Development portfolio: every live opportunity has a size, a cost estimate, an owner and a next decision date.
• Qualify new opportunities against agreed criteria, and record every outcome, including the ones parked or dropped, with the reason.
• Source new opportunities from market monitoring, partner conversations, internal teams and our branches, and keep track of market trends and competitors.
• Build business cases end to end: market sizing, revenue model, costs and investment, regulatory and operational implications, risks, timeline and options.
• Own the assumptions: state and source them, and defend and stress-test them under challenge.
• Bring Product, Finance, Compliance & Legal, Risk, Client Service, CDD/TM, ICT and Marketing together, and get a documented position from each team early enough to change the case.
• Present recommendations, including go/no-go options, to the Business Development Manager and the Management Team.
• Act as project manager for approved initiatives: build the roadmap with milestones, owners and dependencies, keep the teams working to one plan, remove blockers and escalate in time.
• Keep our playbooks and business development standards sharp, build your network across brokerage and fintech, and use AI and automation where they improve quality or speed.
Who you are
• 8 or more years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with a commercial or strategic goal, ideally in financial services, brokerage or fintech.
• Proven experience building business or investment cases: market sizing, revenue and cost modelling, assumptions, options and a recommendation.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; you can build a case and challenge one.
• Experience working with Legal and Compliance on product launches, market entries or client propositions in a regulated environment.
• Experience coordinating external partners, vendors or advisors, and comfortable with C-level stakeholders and prospective counterparties.
• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication in fluent English.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on and intellectually honest: you say what you don’t know, you show the weak part of a case, and you earn cooperation without authority.
• A university degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
Nice to have
• Exposure to market entry or expansion work: regulatory, operational and commercial.
• Dutch, German, French, Czech or Polish.
• A CFA, a postgraduate degree or a MiFID-related certification.
